When People Break Your Heart

When people break your heart,
and they surely will …
With what will you fill the bleeding, gaping cracks?

Wet cement
or
fiery, liquid gold?

Wet cement will certainly harden well.
Leave that heart fortified.
Powerful

Gold, on the other hand,
is a soft, weak metal.
Weathers poorly.

But oh, how it shines in the light….
